Dhaka, Vienna sign air service agreement

Air service between Bangladesh and Austria will start soon with operation of both cargo and passenger flights in the two countries. The new air destination for Bangladesh has opened as Austria signed an Air Service Agreement (ASA) with Bangladesh for the first time.
The agreement aims to operate both cargo and passenger flights between the two countries.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister of Bangladesh AKM Shahjahan Kamal and Austrian Transport Minister Norbert Hofer signed the ASA in Vienna recently for their respective sides. As per the agreement, the airliners of both the countries can operate seven passenger flights and seven cargos flights every week.
Several airliners of the both countries have already expressed interest to operate direct flights.

The direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and Austria will be beneficiary for a huge number of expatiate Bangladeshis living in a number of countries next to Austria including Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland, Hungary and Italy.

Director (Flight Safety and Regulations) of Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) Wing Commander Chowdhury M Ziaul Kabir said the frequency of agreement would be raised if demand increase in the coming days. Austria became the 53rd country that signed such an agreement with Bangladesh.
