EBL recommends 20pc dividend

The bank’s earnings per share totaled to Tk 3.29 during the year, official sources.

The bank’s annual general meeting (AGM) will held on June 5, 2018. The shareholders are expected to approve the audited financial reports and other agenda. The bank gave 20 percent cash and 5 percent stock dividends and the company’s earnings per share were Tk 3.68 for the year 2016.

The bank has also reported consolidated NAV per share of Tk 29.64 and consolidated NOCFPS of minus Tk 9.21 for the year ended on December 31, 2017 as against Tk 28.23 and minus Tk 7.63 respectively for the same period of the previous year. The authorised capital of the bank listed on the stock market was Tk 12,000 million and the paid up capital was Tk 7,380 million.

Eastern Bank started its debut trading in 1993 with the face value Tk 10 per share.
On Monday, share price of the bank declined by Tk 2 or 5.60 percent to Tk 33.70.
Market data of DSE shows, 754,937 shares of the Bank were traded on the floor of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday and its market value stood at almost Tk 25.28 million on the day.

The sponsor-directors own 31.56 percent stake in the bank, while the institutional investors 43.55 percent, foreign 0.51 percent and the general public 24.38 percent as on April 30, 2018, according to the DSE data shows.
