The leading digital service provider, Robi, and MILVIK Bangladesh have observed the World Hepatitis Day jointly organizing three-daylong health awareness activity in Chattagram.
Robi’s mHealth solution, My Health, and MILVIK Bangladesh took this initiative to sensitize the communities in Chattagram on Hepatitis-E disease in the wake of the sudden spread of the disease. Free health checkup camps along with a number of awareness programmes were organized on Hepatitis-E in Dewanbazar, Bahaddarhat and Halishahar of Chattagram from July 28 to 30, 2018. Local ward councilors of Halishahar, Dewan Bazar, and Bahaddarhat, Morshed Aktar Chowdhury, Saibal Das Sumon, and Morshed Alam were present in the inauguration ceremonies of the health camps in their respective areas.
Robi’s Cluster Market Director, Eastern Cluster, A.S.M. Enayetur Rahim and Regional Manager for Eastern Cluster Market, Md. Ashraful Kabir, and MILVIK Bangladesh’s Head of Sales, Shahrukh Khan were present at the occasion. Besides, Dr. Topon Kumar Chakroborty, Zonal Medical Officer, Dewanbazar ward, and Dr. Anwarul Mamun, Chief Medical Officer of MILVIK Bangladesh were present on the occasion and supported the cause by raising awareness among people against Hepatitis-E.
Throughout the event, members of the community in Chattagram visited the health camps and awareness workshops. Many of them took the benefit of having free consultation with a panel of doctors on general and special health check-up matters as well as on Hepatitis-E. In special cases, some of the visitors suffering from Hepatitis-E were referred to specialist Doctors for immediate medical attention.
The health camps incorporated tips and giveaways on healthy living and hygiene habits to save oneself from contracting Hepatitis-E, guests participated in quiz and game shows etc.
The visitors were also appraised about the innovative mobile health & hospital cash-back product, My Health Family pack. They came to know that for just 60 taka per month, customers can enjoy a hospitalization cash-back facility of up to 30,000 taka along with unlimited access to quality medical advice from qualified doctors for themselves and their family members by calling 21216. A group of beneficiaries of the hospitalization cash-back were handed the claim cheques at the workshop. The hospitalization cash-back facility is underwritten by Protective Islami Life Insurance Limited. Many of the visitors termed the health insurance as time-befitting, especially given the outbreak of Hepatitis-E in Chattagram.
Speaking at the inauguration occasion, Robi’s Eastern Cluster Market Director A.S.M. Enayetur Rahim said: “We are very happy to observe the World Hepatitis Day in a befitting fashion in Chattagram. We have used this occasion to raise awareness on Hepatitis E an endemic disease that has spread suddenly in Chattagram. I would like to thank MILVIK Bangladesh for being a willing and eager partner in taking up this initiative. Robi has always enjoyed special affection from the people of Chattagram and this initiative is only a small token of our appreciation for their unrelenting support.”
MILVIK Bangladesh’s Head of Sales Shahrukh Khan said, “We, My Health Team are really happy to stand by the people when they need us. Hepatitis E, though not considered fatal like the other viruses of this sort, ignorance to this can lead to many serious health hazards. We hope that people will understand and become aware of this disease to prevent this.
